Christmas Party Outfit

Brainstorming Christmas Outfit
For Christmas parties I like to be comfortable and cute! I make sure to wear some comfortable heels since we usually do a lot of dancing, and a dress that has some elasticity  since I like to eat, eat and eat. Hahaha.

This year I am thinking of wearing a little black dress, a velvet one to be exact. It's a little long, so I have to make chop some length off ASAP! I won't make it as short as the cute NastyGal one pictured above tho.

I'd really love to wear a pair of coloured heels, preferably green, like these Lolita inspired one. But, in reality I won't be buying a pair of shoes just to make an outfit for Christmas, so lets see what I come up with! Hmmm DIY maybe?

As for my makeup, I'll probably go with red lips, smokey eyes and glittery nails!

What are you wearing for Christmas this year?

What am I going to wear to the wedding?

Best Dresses To Wear To A Wedding In 2012/2013
So you’ve excitedly received a wedding invitation and the first thing you ask yourself is “what am I going to wear?” If there is one fashion faux pas when it comes to wedding fashion then it’s outshining the bride – so how can you make sure you look the part without stealing the show?

Long and Strapless
There is something about long strapless dresses that denotes sophisticated glamour. We all want to stand out at a wedding and wearing a fabulous long dress will certainly warrant a few glances to be made your way. The strapless option will give the dress a sexy feel, showing a little (but not too much) skin. Whilst long strapless dresses are usually considered timeless dresses for wedding guests, this style of dress is particularly in fashion for the 2012/2013 season – and even brides are getting in on the action!
For guests, opt to wear bright and bold colours such as yellow or green and place a skinny belt around your waist. A great wedding look for the 2012/2013 season is to keep hair and make-up neutral, with less most definitely being more. In terms of shoes, the long length of the dress is perfectly suited to high heels but make sure you don’t go too high or you may find yourself teetering into trouble.

Tunics
If you’ve got a great pair of legs there is no occasion quite like a wedding to show them off. Tunics are one of the best styles of dresses to wear to a wedding if you want to stand out from the crowd and for 2012/2013, these dresses are all about being emblazoned in bold patterns and bright colours. If you are going to a winter wedding then be sure to ‘winterise’ a bright and flowery tunic by wearing a pair of tights with it and grab some super high heels to show of those stunning legs!

Sequined
Dresses for wedding guests are designed to be noticed and there is nothing quite as noticeable as a sequined dress that literally sparkles. Sequined dresses that are tightly fitted and fall just above the knee are particularly fashionable for the 2012/2013 Winter season and when worn with a pair of high heels of knee high boots will be the perfect outfit for a winter wedding. Don’t forget to wear a good pair of tights underneath to keep the chill off your legs and grab a shawl or bolero to cover your arms and shoulders when outside.

Fall Essentials

September weather can be all over the place, and Vancouver is no exception.  The mornings are chilly, but the afternoons are pleasantly warm, and the evenings are cold. A total in betweeny! Fall for me is all about warmth in the colours; earthy tones.

Fall is great because you get to layers warm cozy knits ontop of dresses, with skirts, scarves and toques. My fall essentials have always been cable knit sweaters, full length skirts and a pair of good boots. Right now, I am kind of obsessed with leather skirts, although I do not have one! I am on the hunt for it though, asked my mom and aunt if they have one hiding around in their closets from the 80/09s...

What's hot for Fall this year? Bangs, cozy sweaters (1), full length leather skirts (3), boots (5) and dark lips (6) and eyes. Since my neck is more than often wrapped in a scarf during the Fall, I love the idea of wearing statement jewelry on one of my ears, like the cuff pictured above (2).

Also on my list for Fall Essentials is Lady Gaga's debut scent, Fame. I went into Shopper's Drug Mart yesterday to pick up some things, and walked by the display and just had take a wiff! It smells AMAZING! Everything from the bottle design to the scent screams romance, warmth, and confidence. Oh, sexy too! Fame is definitely on my birthday list, hint hint to my adorable husband, hahaha.

What are some of your fall essentials?

Classic Ocean's

Ocean's 11 (2001) is one of my favorite movies as it features el muy guapo Brad Pitt, his homies George Clooney, and Matt Damon. Y los otros respetados actores, como Don Cheadle, Andy Garcia, and Elliott Gould. Oh, and can't forget la pretty woman herself, Julia Roberts. Ocean's 11 is packed with comedy, action and even romance.
Anyways, when remakes are made, I often like to watch the originals. So earlier this evening, after dinner, my husband and I cuddled on the couch and watched the 1960's version of Ocean's 11! One word, classy. It stars Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford and Angie Dickinson. If you love the 1960's, you will LOVE this casino movie. Seriously, the acting, music, humour and fashion is flawless. I totally recommend you watch Oceans's 11 (1960's). Check out the trailer below:
When you compare the films, you can really appreciate how the remake (2001) pays homage to the classic (1960) version. Both films are great. Have you watched any Ocean's movies? Also got me thinking, I've never been to Las Vegas, let alone a casino! Gabriel has been to casinos in Guadalajara, but has never played at a table, just the machines. I'm kind of intrigued to play some casino games, like roulette. Hmm..tengo una idea, I think our next date will be to the local casino, something new for us as a couple! Hehehe. Now, what do you wear to a casino? I was thinking something along the lines of a cute peplum dress, heels and a clutch, or a cute suit with a feminine touch. What do you think, which look should I go for?

Sexy and Sophisticated Summer Dress

Add a splash of colour to your summer wardrobe with vibrant summer dresses from Fever designs.  The Fever Perle Pencil Dress in Bardot is playful, fun and sexy, yet with its fitted style and red and blue belt to add shape, it has a subtle twist of elegance and refinement.  At approx 96cm in length, you will certainly catch the attention of many with the striking spot print, as well as the bold red and blue colours. To complete the look, opt for a pair of bold red or blue heels. However, because of the brightness of the pattern, it’s recommended that you keep accessories to a minimum, so try a pair of cute red stud earrings or a cherry red bracelet.

Fever Designs has a superb collection of stunning maxi dresses this summer, and what better place to start than with the Rio Maxi Dress in Navy?  It’s fun, retro inspired print is bold and vivacious, while the elasticated panel at the back of the dress aids the fit, and the halter neck allows you to wear it as you like it.  At approx 150cm, the skirt of the dress flows beautifully, allowing you to feel comfortable and relaxed through those warm, summer days.  Meanwhile, the waistline is fitted to flatter your figure perfectly.  Team this dress with a bold purple necklace or purple earrings, and flip flops, sandals or espadrilles to finish your vibrant summer look.

If you’re in search of something a little more formal, the Tulip Detroit in Red is a fantastic choice for the summer.  The stunning tulip print is oozing with bold, summer colours while the shift style of the dress adds a touch of sophistication, whether you want to wear it at the office or for a celebratory occasion.  At approx 97cm in length from the side neck point, the dress is fitted at the waist so you will find it is very flattering.  In terms of accessorising, try experimenting with the different colours on the dress; you could team it with vibrant red jewellery and heels or if you’re aiming for a more professional look, match with navy footwear to create a classy, refined finish.

Festival Fashion

Festival Fashion

Festival season is back. It started last week with Field Day festival, and was in full swing this weekend at Lovebox festival’s 10th anniversary in Victoria Park. The sunny weather meant that eyewear was out in force, with aviators, pink plastic and classic wayfarers taking the lead.

Outfits were as bright as Lana Del Rey’s glowing mane, with colour being the inspiration behind every ensemble. Pastel skinny jeans and Aztec-patterned skirts were everywhere – and the wear and tear grass stains were worn with pride. Whatever festival you’re planning on going to this summer, make sure you bring a pair of brightly coloured skinnies to pair with a loose top and worn plimsolls. Rag & Bone do a skinny legging in vintage Biscay which would take you to the top of festival chic when worn with the ankles turned up and a grey marl sweatshirt. The stretchy fabric is even loose enough to let you get down and start pitching the tent.
Of course, the turned up denim shorts are still a classic festival staple. Get your legs out for on-the-go tanning in 7 for all Mankind’s pale blue roll-up shorts. The roll-up goes with the laid-back festival vibe, but the perfect fit means even the most high-maintenance girl will be pleased.

At Lovebox, patterns were an absolute must. The bravest – and most fashion-conscious – wore head to toe colour for maximum impact, and stole the show from the state. Others made sure to add a bold print to an otherwise minimal outfit for a pop of colour that screamed festival chic. I suggest Current/Elliott’s boyfriend shorts in a neon multi-arrow print. The vintage denim is set off by the fun print – and you can get the same print on a skinny jean if you’re not ready to wear your first short shorts of the season.
As well as the mandatory willies (you can never go wrong with a pair of Hunters) make sure you bring a small stack of comfy T-shirts to slip in and out of when camping – or even glamping. Zoe Karssen’s range of tees will go well with brightly patterned bottoms, and make a change from the obligatory band tees.

Nina on the Moon + Nina Sky

Twin sisters, Natalie + Nicole of Nina Sky inspire me. To witness that sisters can love the same type of art + creative expression, support each other, be professional and  successful is admirable. I love how dedicated they are to their career, and making sure to always be on the move, forward!

Their chic, funky + fresh fashion style, is rad. They've been my fashion "it girls" for a while! Totally, my type of gear. They can rock absolutely anything, and their confidence, and utmost love for life shines right thru, making any outfit look bang on (+sexy).

It was a pleasure to meet them, they were both so down to earth and humble. I even told them I was "Nina on the Moon"!! haaaaaaaaaaaay!

Video below featuring me + Nicole + Natalie...

hahaha, I crack up every time I see the part where I say "Do they know who you are?" and how I giggle after...embarrassing!LOL

Priscila Presley

I love this photo of the Presley's so much, that I want to have it blown up on canvas! I will one day, make an outfit inspired by this photo, me and Gabriel will rock out the Presley way!

Priscila Presley is a lovely lady. But personally, I prefer how she looked before all of the surgeries, which would be her teens/early 20s, I think.

She is one of my fashion icons.  Her outfits have always been boho/hippy/chic and sexy, while keeping it classy, and covered up.  The following images are some of my favorite Priscila outfits!
PICTURES DO NOT BELONG TO ME.
