Spread the #Holiday Cheer: Share What You Can!

For some, Christmas is the happiest time of the year; families and friends come together, have dinners/parties and exchange gifts. But for other's it's like any other day, a struggle, a worry, a doubt. What will they eat, how long will they live, where will they sleep, how will they tell their child Santa "forgot" their present...?

This Holiday season, why not try to go the extra mile to share with those whom need it most? Here are some ideas:

DONATE:

1+3: Thermal socks and winter coats to a homeless shelter, women/men's shelter. 

2: Canned goods to a homeless shelter or food bank. Make sure they are not expired!

4: New toy(s) to a family in need. There are usually hampers collecting new toys for families in need at school and community centers.

VOLUNTEER:

1: Soup Kitchen. Help prep/serve food on Christmas Day.

2: Hospital Ward. Visit those who were forgotten. Read Christmas stories or simply converse. Call your local hospital and ask how you can help!

3: Animal Shelter. Help feed, clean and play with abandoned and/or abused animals.

It's important to stop in the midst of the Holiday Buzz to count the blessings; love, family, friendships, food, health, a home and so on...

I love this picture of us! It was taken at Hacienda Herradero Viejo [where we had our wedding reception] four days before our wedding. I remember how excited we were to taste the food, and decide on what was going to be served for dinner at our reception! MMM, it's was mouth watering! :) 

I am slowly, but surely, posting photos from days prior to our wedding, which will eventually  lead up to our big day! I want to share these special moments with you, so you can get to know me a little better!

That's it, I'm going goth/punk!

While we were waiting at an intersection in Downtown, this group had caught my attention! Especially, the young lady to my left! Her attire was so awesome, something I have always wanted to wear, but have not had the time (or money) to buy! I don't know if you can see her eyes....she's wearing white, yes, WHITE, contacts! I swear I was hypnotized by her friendliness + beauty! 

I mentioned to the group, that one of things that I've always wanted to do, was to dress in goth/punk attire! They were all for it, and told me where I can find affordable pieces, and that most of there pieces were "do it yourself"

They also told me about a goth/punk bar-club that was in the vicinity and encouraged me to go one weekend!!!! I was over the moon!!! :)

So, my plan for the month of October is to check this desire/new adventure off the "to do list for life" by:
1. Make a killer goth/punk outfit
2. Convince my husband to make one too (shouldn't be too hard!)
3. Attend a goth/punk bar-club

what is something that you have always wanted to do/try?? why not do it? Yes, you CAN!

Give it Away

I enjoy giving things away, it is one of those things that gives me pure pleasure and happiness. Monthly, I go thru my closet and pickout a few things that I no longer wear/use and donate it to my local thrift shop! This thrift store's earnings go toward supporting the homeless in our neighborhood! I love to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty.

I fundraise money to make care packages (toothpaste-brush, vitamins, beanie babies, and stickers) to giveaway to street children in countries that I travel to. I will always be more than willing to give my love, and time to those who are in need.

I sincerely believe that this world has the possibility of being a greater place, a PARADISE, for all of it's inhabitants! What are you doing or willing to do, to help our world?

I am learning how to play the guitar and attempting to find my singing voice! I have the best teacher (my husband), but sometimes I get so frustrated and give up. I woke up today more determined to succeed at my music; my quote happened to flow out of my mouth as I sprung out of bed! I was thinking that fear has a lot to do with frustration, at least for me, I feel as though I am scared of failure. I have so much passion to learn that I do not want to defraud myself from what I know I am capable of doing. It's hard but, I want to stop being scared of the "what ifs", What if I make a fool of myself? What if I'm not as good as I think? What if I fail? PERO, como dicen mis papas, el hubiera no existe!! Lets live in the present, even for the little things like singing and learning a new instrument; you can't get better without practice! And trying isn't failing, it is improving and achieving!
