Do it Yourself [#5]: Vest

So you have an old jacket that you haven't worn in months, and maybe the sleeves have some stains, but you don't want to donate it because it's not in a gently worn state. And you don't want to throw it out because there's already millions of tons of dumped every year, better to reduce, reuse and recycle!

In order to transform your jacket into something new, simply cut off the sleeves!

Tip: Follow the hem that joins the body of the jacket to the sleeve. Don't cut on the hem, but follow closely along the line for a clean finish, see photo below.

  3. This is a great idea for a simple DIY - I'm not sure if my cutting skills are up to it (I failed high school sewing, if you can believe it!) but I love to give it a try :)
