Our Intimate Hippie-esque Civil Ceremony

I'd like to share with you, a very important event in my life...

On June the fourth, two-thousand and eleven, Gabriel and I had our civil ceremony. It was everything I had envisioned; simple, hippie-esque, very intimate (15 people), and a great outdoor location..oh and great weather too!

Love, to love and be loved is such a blessing. On this special day where something so special and blessed was to take place, many other blessing occurred as well. An hour before our guests began to arrive, Gabriel and I were out on the deck, and a little birdy was sitting on the ground next to us. There was also a black cat, who sniffed at the bird! I was scared for our new little friend, and asked Gabriel to pick him up (we also thought he might have been injured). El Pajarito, began to sing and cuddle as soon as Gabriel swept him into his hands, it was AMAZING. Gabriel held him, and opened his hand to let him fly away, but instead, El Pajarito flew over to my hands and sang some more! El Pajarito, hopped onto my shoulder and seconds later his little feathered friends/family came around us and they all flew off together!

During our ceremony, when we were saying our vows, there was a lot of birds singing, and all of the sudden, two little pajaritos started flying around Gabriel and I. It felt like a Disney movie (like in Cinderella/Enchanted, where her little friend are making her dress!!). One of them stopped on my dress for a second, and the other was on Gabriel's chest! Then mine flew onto Gabriel too! The marriage commissioner and the rest of our guests were all in AWE! The marriage commissioner had mentioned to us (and our guests) that in the many years that she had been doing marriages, she had never seen that. It was a blessing, it was OUR blessing. Our little pajaritos, little messenger from God, letting us know that He was with us on such an important day in our lives.
