Truth Tuesday [#18]

Laundry is the only thing that should be separated by color.  ~Author Unknown

I've encountered my share of racism over the years, and I just don't understand it. You shouldn't hate on me because of the languages I speak, the colour of my skin, or the slant of my eyes.

  1. agreed! I always believed this, even when everyone around me looked pretty much the same, but now that I'm surrounded by people of all ethnicities and skin colours, that simple truth is even more visible!

Ah, I feel guilty. I haven't done a Truth Tuesday in ages. Truth is (ha!) I've been so busy, I don't have time to stop and admit things, I guess.

  5. I completely agree. It baffles me how racism can still exist in society today. It is incredibly frustrating and hurtful.

  6. so sad that in a day and age like today people haven't learned from our past mistakes and continue the unnecessary hatred. Here's hoping we can be better than them!

Glad to see you back Nina! xoxoo

  7. I've been around a bit, and as far as I can see, things have actually gotten worse...what's going on, people....what are they so afraid of?? I'm a 2nd gen. Mexican-American and the only time I was confronted with any kind of racism was in Dallas, TX back in the early 70's...quit a job because of it...couldn't take it, but I was so young then and the whole experience baffled me...never had dealt with it here in El Paso, TX....wish I knew then what I know now!

  8. What a beautiful quote!

The truth is we must continue to speak up and speak out if we are to crush all 'isms' and make them history.

Change can happen if we all participate.

  9. My plans for Christmas are epic: I'm going home after 4 months! Seeing my parents, dog and friends, sleeping in my bed and being in a town the size of a neighborhood in my current surroundings are all things I can't wait for! There's also tons (literally, my books are going to make me pay extra for luggage, I bet!) to study for the exams in January, but it doesn't matter!

    and you? :)
