Truth Tuesday [#11]

I am trying a new "project" out. Well, I suppose it is more like an experiment.Besides smiling, I am attempting to make eye contact with everyone that walks in my path (on the sidewalks, on the bus, at the library, etc). Trying to have more human encounters with people, and more than usual, saying a  chipper "HELLO!" Unfortunately, more than often people are just "mean muggin" me! Sad, but true!  But, you know me, NO ME DOY POR VENCIDA!!! (I will not surrender!)
A rude look, or even ignoring me will not stop my latest mission ;)

Why not join me and give this a shot for a day? Let me know how it goes!
I am forever grateful + humbled for the many kind words you leave!

Muchos besitos, bendiciones y buenas vibras.

  1. It's amazing what a difference eye contact will make, especially when someone is talking to you. It's awful how many people are taken aback by direct eye contact! I think this is a great idea and ou will love the results you see in yourself and the way people respond to you!

  2. I am definitely joining you... staring right now. It is sad to realize that human interaction is so foreign to us nowadays. A simple smile or hello is so foreign that we are quick to be rude to someone who is trying to reach out.

  6. It's surprisingly difficult to make an eye contact! Or it's because I'm from Finland and Finns are pretty antisocial :D Okay I can only talk about myself but I'm shy :D

  7. that is so weird, because just the other day I realized how odd people can be. I accidentally bumped into a woman and promptly apologised, she replied it was ok and we both went on our way. but then I realized as I was getting on the subway that I had touched a person, but for the life of me could not remember one detail about how she looked.

It was kind of a shock, but it made me realize I should try to be more aware, to look at people, not just smile blankly as I walk on the street.

    great post, as always!

  9. What a great challenge you've set out for yourself. In the age of iPods and cellphones, we concentrate so much on people who are not with us that we almost don't see the people around us. Hope this goes well for you!
